Today at approx 12.30pm a thud sounded on our Conservatory glass and when I looked outside there was a Dragon Fly - identified i think as a Southern Hawker [perhaps Migrant Hawker this late in the year? - Ed], clearly stunned it just sat there on the patio until it started flapping its wings and crawling around, I grabbed my camera and managed to take few pics of this amazing creature before it finally took flight with perhaps just a sore head. Is it unusual for this species to be around so late in the year ?
